Performance
RAM 1500 offers two engine options—a V-6 and a twin-turbo inline-six gasoline engine.

The engine connects to an automatic and rather smooth-shifting eight-speed transmission. The vehicle’s suspension boasts standard coil springs (rather than leaf springs) that add comfort and stability to the ride, which can be a priority for seniors. An optional air suspension is also available on some models. This feature offers adjustable ride height, making it easier for seniors to get in and out of the truck.

Fuel efficiency
The RAM 1500 is quite fuel-efficient for a truck. The V-6 has an efficiency rating of 20 mpg on city roads and 25 mpg on the highway. Meanwhile, the 420-hp turbo inline-six can offer 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highwa y (rear-wheel drive). The all-wheel drive variant drops the rating to 17 mpg and 24 mpg in the city and on the highway, respectively. The high-output engine variant is only available with an all-wheel drive and has a fuel economy rating of 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.

Exterior
The new RAM 1500 features a completely redesigned exterior. Every time one approaches the vehicle, it lights up in a completely customizable LED walk-up animation, including the RAM logo and exterior light carpet. This looks ethereal on the Night Edition of the vehicle. The grille design has also been revamped, adding to the RAM 1500’s rugged yet chic appeal.

Seniors interested in an all-black look would enjoy the Night Edition upgrade in their RAM 1500. This is an exclusive package available only on select trims of the RAM 1500, namely Limited, Laramie®, Rebel®, Big Horn®, and Tradesman®. According to the automaker, the new RAM 1500 is more luxurious than its predecessors. The truck has been given a rather futuristic look with a highly advanced dashboard. Depending on the trim chosen, buyers get either fabric or leather seats in the truck, with the Night Edition variants featuring an all-black finish. Technology
One of the first things passengers will notice as they enter the RAM 1500 is the expansive offering of touchscreens on the dashboard.
