Key Things to Know About the Maserati Ghibli

Maserati introduced the Ghibli to attract customers in the midsize luxury car segment. The vehicle is all about performance, aggressive styling, and an enticing cabin with a choice of materials like wood, leather, and metal. It may be worth investing in if you are in the market for a car. But will the Maserati Ghibli meet your requirements? Here is a glimpse into what the luxury car brings to the table.

Available trims
The manufacturer simplified the vehicle, introducing a few distinct trims into the market, such as GT, Modena, F Tributo, F Tributo Q4, and Trofeo. While all have many common features, a few capabilities vary depending on the model.

Key Things to Know About the Maserati Ghibli
So, you may have to choose one that best suits your needs.

Exterior styling
Maserati Ghibli has hit a home run with the exterior design. The front features a long hood with a rectangular grille and the elegant-looking Maserati logo. Flanking the grille on both sides are the headlamps. The styling continues with the roof and the rear part of the vehicle, with an overall low height and a sporty design. The back end has a muscular structure with wrap-around taillights and prominent quadruple exhausts.

Interior styling
The Ghibli’s interiors are equally appealing. Its cabin has been painted wholly in black with some added silver inserts.

The infotainment display sits right in the middle, with air-conditioner vents on both sides. Below the infotainment displays are the climate control system and settings for controlling the automatic transmission. The seats are stitched with leather, and the steering wheel has wooden inserts.

Performance
The base trim of the Maserati Ghibli has a 3.0-liter V6 engine with RWD that generates an output of 345 hp. The highest-end variant offers a more powerful 3.8-liter V8 engine that can provide 580 hp. All models have RWD functionality as standard, with AWD as an optional upgrade. The engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission system.

Comfort
The car is comfortable to drive and gives a premium feel, thanks to the use of rich leather on the seats and wooden inserts on the steering wheel. The top trim boasts a Skyhook suspension that smoothes the bumps and prevents body roll at corners.

Technology
All trims feature a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that integrates Android Auto and Apple Carplay. You also get a competent navigation system and support for satellite radio via SiriusXM. An eight-speaker system is provided as a standard music system, and users can upgrade to an optional ten-speaker setup from Harman/Kardon or a 15-speaker system from Bowers & Wilkins.

Storage
While the Maserati Ghibli has less legroom than similarly-priced midsize luxury sedans, it makes it up with better cargo space. The legroom for the first and second rows are 37.7 inches and 33.2 inches, respectively. The cargo space measures 17.7 cubic feet.

Fuel economy
The V6 engines provide a fuel economy of 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Alternatively, the V8 (only available in the highest-end Trofeo variant) has a fuel economy of 13 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

Safety
The Maserati Ghibli has obtained some of the highest crash and rollover ratings from IIHS. Besides the available features, the optional safety benefits include automatic emergency braking, a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and rear cross-traffic alert.

With its impressive styling, comfortable interiors, and powerful engine, the Maserati Ghibli is undoubtedly a fantastic midsize luxury sedan. Experts recommended the Modena variant because of its competent V6 twin-turbo engine that can pump out 424 hp of power. Visit a trusted dealer to learn more about the vehicle and take a test drive before bringing it home.
