Overview – BMW M3

The BMW M3 comes in three different trim variants, namely – the base M3, the M3 Competitive, and the limited-edition M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M.

Here’s a Look at the Notable Features of the BMW M3
The special edition of the vehicle includes matte black grey wheels with a carbon-fiber roof, carbon-fiber tailpipes, and a carbon-fiber front splitter. The other noteworthy features of the vehicle are as follows:

Exterior styling

Starting with the exterior structure, the BMW M3 features a sporty, sharp, and muscular front fascia with dual grilles at the center and smaller ones on either side. The grille is further flanked by two angular-shaped dual-LED headlamps. Additional styling has been provided on the hood of the vehicle, and the front bumpers/fenders have been well-extended too. The vehicle has a sloping roof towards the rear with wrap-around taillights and track-inspired quad-exhaust pipes.

The rear side of the vehicle has also been structured creatively to provide a muscular look with an extended bumper design.

Interior styling

Inside the BMW M3, there’s a two-tone cabin design with grey and silver accents. At the center of the dashboard lies the infotainment display with air-conditioning vents and climate controls beneath. In front of the infotainment is the gear shifting module, and beside it is the three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls for easy access. The provided digital instrument cluster display is fairly large as well.

Performance

The base trim of the BMW M3 sports a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six that can provide a maximum output of 473 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. Alternatively, the M3 Competitive trim variant offers a much more powerful engine clocking in at 503 hp of power and 479 lb-ft of torque, coupled with an 8-speed transmission system. Furthermore, every M3 trim model features an adjustable brake pedal with adaptive dampers.

Comfort

The BMW M3 has a comfortable interior design thanks to its sport-tuned suspension system and the narrow tire sidewalls. Road and wind noise travel less inside the cabin; however, you will hear the engine exhaust once in a while.

Technology

The BMW M3 features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple Carplay integration. All the trim models come with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and users also get access to one year of satellite radio subscription from SiriusXM. Additionally, there’s support for features like a wireless charging pad, USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Storage

The BMW M3 sports an overall cargo space of 13 cubic feet, which is quite commendable for a sports car. You’ll also get enough space inside the cabin to store items owing to the generous door pockets to the underarm storage bin.

Fuel economy

According to the EPA, the BMW M3 has been rated for 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, for a combined fuel economy of 22 mpg.

Safety

The BMW M3 comes with a handful of driver-assistance safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rear-cross traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.

Conclusion

The BMW M3 is a well-rounded vehicle owing to its powerful engine, availability of a 6-speed manual transmission, and overall comfortable interior cabin. It’s suggested that you opt for the base M3 variant simply because it features a satisfying manual transmission system compared to the automatic transmission in the higher-trim models.
